ABOUT US

Youth Climate Action - About us....

We are very new however very keen to make change. When creating this network we identify that with networks heirarchy structures usually entail. We want to actively work agaisnt this, break down these barriers for personal change and action for all. Below is the organising collective at the present time - we definitely want more names and faces to join this list and join us in creating amazing changes.

Organising Collective:

Nathan - Just finished high school at Cent. Heights; has been involved in a few different climate events and organisations. I really got into the organising side of climate action after becoming more involved in the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC). I travelled to Sydney for a national scale youth event called 'Switched On' then shortly after went travelling off to Bali for the UN conference on climate change. I am so passionate about creating a sustainable change and avoiding dangerous climate change because it is completely unjust to do otherwise. So join us in a sustainable and youth revolution for Toowoomba!

Chris - I finished High school in 2006 and am now studying second year mechanical engineering. I have been involved with landcare in several revegetation projects, as well as other hands on community works and I love it. During high school I found another related interest in modern history and politics. This is ever more related to the issue of climate change. I have had a keen interest in environmental issues for most of my life. My passion grew during my high school years but my friends did not share this interest. Since leaving high school I have found many young people who are also concerned about the big issue and like me didn't know how to make a difference. I am very excited about opening oppurtunities for others and becoming part of a local united environment community.

Ellenie - Is also fresh out of high school...

Yes there are real people trying to create real change - join us!
